Hello Barbara, I was a friend of Charlene when she lived in Brookhaven on Long Island in the 80's our boys were friends. I have tried in the past to reconnect with Charlene but never found her. I am so sad to now find she has passed on. She was such a lovely spirit and we had many long talks about her experience in Somalia and the horrific acts of female circumcision and the conditions of her imprisonment. I know she dreamed of writing about this experience and to enlighten the world about the plight of women in this culture. I have missed her and wish I had located her. How are her children. The last I knew she had a daughter I think her name was Eva. I am sure you are aware of the beautiful soul wrapped in the exquisite face that was Charlene, I am hard pressed to have ever met a more beautiful woman, inside and out. I would love to talk with you her friend and hear how she was doing before her death...so hard to know she is beyond. I am Sam Gray if she ever spoke of me my e-mail is samiam@get-wireless.us. I look forward to hearing from you Barbara She would have loved your dedication to her. Love and Light Sam
I'm Barbara, the author of South Africa's bestselling guide on intercultural interaction 'Clues to Culture' and the mystical African fable 'The Wisdom of Hiss'.
